Northwest Central Alberta FASD Network

Vision: Communities working together to build a culture of hope, acceptance and support to prevent and respond to FASD.
Mission: As a Network, we collaborate to prevent, support, diagnose and advocate for people affected by FASD across the lifespan. We achieve this through inclusive collaboration, responsive innovation, promoting knowledge and by building individual and community capacity.

Programs and Services Offered

FASD adult and pediatric clinic services

  • Pediatric clinic services are delivered via a mobile rural model. Pediatric clinics are primarily held in Edson, Barrhead and Slave Lake.
  • Adult assessment and diagnostic services are coordinated by the Network and typically delivered out of Edmonton.

FASD prevention and support services in the following communities

  • Through 2-3 year contracts with various service providers in our north, west and central zones.
  • North Zone – Slave Lake, Red Earth Creek, Smith, Kinuso; First Nations communities of Swan River, Sawridge, Loon River, Peerless and Trout Lake and Big Stone Cree Nation(3); Atikameg and Driftpile in partnership with Northwest FASD Network
  • West Zone – Jasper, Hinton, Edson
  • Central Zone – Whitecourt, Mayerthorpe, Onoway, Sangudo, Barrhead, Westlock, Swan Hills, Thorhild, Athabasca, Boyle, Wandering River; Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation; and Paul Band in partnership with Edmonton FASD Network

  • Mobile as needed, upon request

  • Jasper, Hinton, Edson, Whitecourt, Mayerthorpe, Sangudo, Onoway, Barrhead, Westlock, Swan Hills, Thorhild, Athabasca, Boyle , Wandering River, Slave Lake, Red Earth Creek, Kinuso, Smith and First Nations communities of Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, Bigstone Cree Nation (3), Swan River, Sawridge, Loon River, Peerless and Trout Lake.
