Northwest Central Alberta FASD Network

Vision: Communities working together to build a culture of hope, acceptance and support to prevent and respond to FASD.
Mission: As a Network, we collaborate to prevent, support, diagnose and advocate for people affected by FASD across the lifespan. We achieve this through inclusive collaboration, responsive innovation, promoting knowledge and by building individual and community capacity.

Programs and Services Offered

FASD adult and pediatric clinic services

  • Pediatric clinic services are delivered via a mobile rural model. Pediatric clinics are primarily held in Edson, Barrhead and Slave Lake.
  • Adult assessment and diagnostic services are coordinated by the Network and typically delivered out of Edmonton.

FASD prevention services in the following communities

  • Edson/Hinton via a contract with Hinton Friendship Centre
  • Whitecourt via a contract with Healthy Families Healthy Futures

FASD support services in the following communities

  • Edson/Hinton via a contract with Hinton Friendship Centre
  • Whitecourt via a contract with Healthy Families Healthy Futures
  • Mobile Adult Post-Clinic Support Services

Transitional support to youth with complex needs in the communities of

  • Alexander First Nation
  • Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation

FASD training

  • Mobile as needed, upon request
